Case Study: Wesley Mission and Tech for Good: Delivering better services for people impacted by gambling harm and domestic violence

Gambling and domestic violence are complex issues that require continuous counselling and, more importantly, immediate support. To help ensure people impacted by gambling harm and domestic violence can easily access support services, Tech for Good enhanced the functionality of Wesley Mission’s Dynamics 365 CRM to enable the nonprofit to better manage inbound requests to call centers, as well as for case management, and the release of emergency cash assistance.

Case Study: Yarning - First of its kind Aboriginal Language App

Akkodis won the Microsoft Social Impact Inclusion Changemaker 2022 Partner of the Year Award for innovation & excellence of the Yarning App, a mobile application developed in collaboration with the Western Australian Police Force to improve fairness and equality to Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia. Built on the Microsoft Power Platform, Yarning provides spoken Aboriginal language interpretation allowing WA police officers to improve understanding and communication with Aboriginal communities.

Mobile App ‘Yarning’ - designed by WA Police Force in collaboration with Akkodis. Winner of the Global Microsoft Inclusion Changemaker – Social Impact award.

Aboriginal communities in Western Australia collectively speak more than 60 languages. Communication barriers have been a long-term challenge for these communities when accessing public and social services and when engaging with law enforcement. However, the ‘Yarning’ mobile app is now breaking down these language barriers and fostering better interactions between Aboriginal communities and the Western Australian Police Force (WAPF) officers.

Built on Microsoft Power Platform, Yarning was created by WAPF’s Aboriginal Affairs Division in collaboration with Aboriginal Interpreting WA, Akkodis and Microsoft. Akkodis won the Microsoft 2022 Partner of the Year – Social Impact award for the development of this app.

Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia and Tech for Good: Helping sick children rediscover the joy of childhood

Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalized children and young people.
