Akkodis Advisory Case Study: Tech-Enabled Business Transformation in Ambulance and Emergency Health Services

This case study outlines the TGA AusUDID Project, a national initiative to implement a Unique Device Identification (UDI) system that improves medical device traceability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

In partnership with Akkodis, the project focuses on building the UDI system, educating stakeholders, and supporting healthcare compliance by 2030.

Key highlights include:

• Successful system implementation in March 2025, delivered on time and within budget.

• Integration with national systems.

• Overcoming stakeholder and technical challenges through structured working groups and continuous improvement.

Outcomes include enhanced regulatory oversight, full UDI compliance by 2030, and improved patient safety and device tracking.

The National Interoperable Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NINDSS) is a transformative digital health initiative led by the Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and was delivered in partnership with Akkodis.

In partnership with Health, Akkodis designed, built and implemented a new cloud based NINDSS platform to replace the ageing NINDSS. NINDSS provides a modern, scalable solution for disease surveillance nationally.

This case study outlines the project’s objectives, architecture, implementation journey, and strategic value to public health in Australia.

Akkodis Advisory is helping transform ambulance and emergency health services by tackling complex business challenges and driving innovation.

Akkodis Data Strategy Whitepaper

Every organisation needs a data & AI strategy to navigate the process of using data to get ahead. After people, data is fast becoming the most valuable business asset, often referred to as the ‘new oil’.

Successful and forward-looking enterprises are now harnessing their data asset to make strategic business decisions and leave their competition behind.

But what does this involve?

Why and how you should prioritise AI within your data strategy

Integrating AI with data strategy offers clear benefits, enabling enterprises to uncover hidden patterns, predict trends, and make informed decisions for a competitive edge and long-term success.

Prioritising AI can accelerate business insights. However, key considerations must be addressed before fully adopting an AI-first approach. Learn more about these key considerations in this paper.

Human-Centred AI in Modern Organisations

Interest in extending human decision-making with AI in organisational processes is growing. The release of ChatGPT, Bard, and other LLM-based chatbots has sparked global interest in foundation models. However, the ‘black box’ nature of these models and their increasing intelligence have raised debates about responsible AI.

At Akkodis, we emphasize key considerations for applying Human-Centred Responsible Artificial Intelligence (HCR-AI) in operational use cases. This paper explores the foundations of HCR-AI and management considerations for its practical application in organisations.
