The first wave saw the rise of image generation tools like DALL·E, followed by the second wave in late 2022 when ChatGPT’s rapid adoption drove an enterprise rush. The third wave introduced AI agents—pre-trained models able to use tools, perform searches, and write code—which has now evolved into agentic systems, where multiple specialized agents collaborate under a controller to complete complex tasks. Morley emphasized that this latest phase moves beyond simple language interaction to actively actioning insights, paving the way for greater value creation.
